For the drunken Gugelhupf, beat the yolks and sugar until well frothy, then whip the egg whites and salt into snow. Mix well the flour, breadcrumbs, baking powder and cinnamon and stir alternately with the snow to the yolk mixture.

Grease a cake pan and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour the mixture into the cake pan and bake the cake in the preheated oven at 180° for approx. 30 – 35 minutes. Let the Gugelhupf cool completely and turn it out of the pan. Cut the Gugelhupf into pieces and pour plenty of mulled cider over it. Serve the drunken Gugelhupf together with whipped cream.

Preparation Tip:

You can also serve the drunken Gugelhupf very well with mulled wine instead of mulled cider.
