For the Bonbel with Caramel Dates, line 4 ovenproof small ramekins with 2 bay leaves each and divide the cheese roll evenly among the 4 ramekins.

Melt in the oven at 220 °C for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the dates lengthwise, remove the seeds and cut into strips.

Melt the sugar in a saucepan until light brown caramel, add balsamic vinegar and lemon juice. Be careful, it can splash a lot!

Place the date strips and walnut halves in the caramel and cover with it. Garnish the hot Bonbel with the caramelized dates and walnuts and 1 tsp. of cranberries each.

Preparation Tip:

Serve with Bonbel with caramel dates fresh baguette with butter and/or a small leaf salad.
